Ben
You should be able to set the idle CO to 1% with that adjuster on the MAF. If you can't get to 1% then the MAF is toast.

Turn clockwise to richen. It's a 20 turn pot with no end stops.

Thanks for the offer, John.
I'll give it a go tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Hopefully the airflow meter its still good, it wasn't replaced that long ago according to the cars history.
Regards,
Ben

Well its time to revisit my thread once again
I hadnt driven the car properly since 'fixing' it. Today, I took it out on a nice long run, got the engine nice and warm. I noticed that when coming to a stop at a junction, the revs were quite low, but didnt stall. Pulled in to refuel, restarted, shifted to drive, and the engine stalled. Restarted fine, but stalled again when put into drive. I popped the hood and turned the idle screw sky high so i could get home.

I checked the temp 2 sensor, and had approx 260 ohms with the engine hot. Unplugging the idle control valve caused no change. Unplugging the maf made the car surge at idle.
I measured the voltage at the ICV plug and got around 6-9 volts. Took the ICV off the car and connected it to the plug. Bunged the pipes and restarted the engine. Looking at the shutter, nothing happens at all even if I try to stall the engine. Measuring the voltage with it connected gave me 0v. Thought the ICV was S/C but it measures about 23 ohms. Should I apply some voltage to it to see if the shutter opens?
Other than this, what could be the problem, a bad LH? Should I check it for bad solder joints?

Heres hoping,
Ben

Ben
Your Euro S2 doesn't have an Idle Control valve, if that is what you are referring to...

Are you talking about the one on the cross brace ?

Ben,
Any chance you've closed down your idle adjustment screw when you were trying to get the idle down. If it's closed, once the warm up period is over your idle would then be very low. Just a thought.

Hi,

This is what I think is the ICV:

Please excuse the dirt, was before I cleaned everything last week.
The one that should be on the cross bar was removed when the AC was taken off the car.
Idle screw was definately not all the way in.
I'm really stuck for ideas again, I thought I had this beat.

Ben

Edit:
I've just been searching and i've been calling it the wrong thing... Aux air valve!
I should have 12v at it constantly though (strange).

Still, looking back, Drifter had a similar problem here :

John, You mention that its the 'Tile' on the LH computer. Could you elaborate? I'm an electronics engineer, so be as technical as you like.
