I take it that this thing needs some HEEEEEAAAT before you can get it to cooperate and get on the car. Damn!
Where is my Hammer....
Anybody have any shortcuts, hints, tips on these??

i wanted to put an s wing on my 79 and the guy selling it talked me out of it, said it was not as easy as it looked. after he showed me why, i agreed. i would have had to change the whole rear hatch... so then i went with a s4 wing
I have one that has been sitting for a year...
I tried this spring to put it on and realized quicky that I needed a heat gun and an extra pair of hands... sounds like we are in the same place...
part of my want to just wait until I am getting her painted...

I'm in the process of installing the S spoiler on my non S car. It's really been a pain getting it on there. I work a while but then have to quick due to frustration. I also got some of the brake ducts and cut out the holes in the front bumper to install them. It's coming around slowly but surely. But it's going to look great when I'm done!

I ended up losing a little paint that's hidden under the spoiler and just used a screw driver to help pry it around the corners. It's the only way I could get the PITA lip to slide around
Shane, someone today in Wilbraham was saying that a heat gun softens it up nicely then it forms itself to the car well.
We should've had a Shane meteor 86.5 5-speed front spoiler party (don't have mine yet, but made a deal to acquire it...).
Good luck.

Exactly what shane (#2 on this thread) said. I was sitting there listening also as another owner was saying how easy it was to put it on after using a heat gun on it.
Shane,
Hot day in Texas didn't help.
I think Jessa and I did it the same way. Reamed and dressed the holes -one side only-,
then with the sHARk parked close enough to the garage wall for bracing our backs one person pushes, lifts, wiggles, pry.
The other just uses FORCE!
The force be with you!
I'm sure you have noticed by now that the front of the fender is not a strong structure, be careful.

Just an update:
Put the spoiler out in the sun for about an hour and a half, and it slid on like it was butter.
I even managed to catch up to the guys half way through their drive and finished out the day chasing S4's around the PacNW. Lots of high speed twisties and absolutely zero revenue paid to state collectors.

When I installed mine, I used a small floor jack to keep it up tight against the cat at the bottom while I pulled and twisted the sides. It helped me, maybe it will help someone else in the future.
