The hardest thing to do is stick your hand through one side of the blower box and line up the pack. I actually leaned over the engine with one hand through the box and lined up one nut with my right hand and started the screw. I tightened it with a palm phillips head and then put the plug on. I checked it again to make sure it worked and put in the bottom screw. I put the plaster cover over the whole setup and lined up the lip of it with the top of the firewall and put the rubber gasket back on. To take it apart and put it all back was less than 50 minutes. I had a deep indentation about four inches from my wrist due to the angle of my hand in the blower box. That was the only pain in the *** about the install/removal. Furking arm hurts...*L*

BrettStrikes... next time (& there will be a next time, unless
you send an offering to the shrine, NOW), use 18" flexible
4-prong 'grabber' , string and needle nose pliers. Tie string to
pack, let it drop into duct, 'flex' grab it, tie string to new pack,
pull new pack to mounting location (string was long enuf, eh?).
Grab new pack with needle nose and hold in place so mount
screw takes hold then screw in other one. Reconnect. Ta Dahh!
Snap rubber coupling back into place on duct. Close hood (you
didn't dismount it, right?). Count tools & dead parts.
G'luck all.

IceMan..I kept the hood on....I am not a big guy...and I had trouble getting my arm through the box....hood removal would take some extra time...but you would have a better angle and certainly more visibility....but...it can be done....Macreels idea is great....obviously he's done this a few times...

Hi you can also use a coat hanger with a hook on the end to get the resistor pack in and out of the blower duct
