If anyone is thinking about creating a cab on their own, it's not as simple as zipping the roof off and welding in some bracing. Take a close look at what it takes to make the doors work at the pillar. Or what it takes to create a rear deck. This car is no more gutted that an average restoration gets at the early stages......so you are getting free disassembly!

I'm very surprised nobody has grabbed this... c'mon folks !!

biased cab-owner rant off now

Keith: It just shows really badly in the pictures, funny-car tires, leaves hanging down, and I'm sorry, some of the work is just weird. What did they do to the front wheel wells for gods sake? Someone with taste, that would be you, please fix it right.

Sorry Kieth, but I have to agree with Fugly. Just from a cursory look, it belongs in a bodybag or in that like-colored recycle container behind it. It's not just the bloated fenders combined with the wheels, but the interior with rats-nest wiring and non-existent upolstry. And that' s before looking under the car.

I guess if you really wanted a convertible, you could buy nice '79 that was rearended as a parts doaner. Armed with an imagination and bitchin' set of tools, anything can happen.

Cheers,

Points well taken. I would most certainly agree. I figured there were a few folks out there that could care less (like me) and see it's potential, not what is. The important facts still remain of which I had pointed out in the auction. If it doesn't sell, then I will deal with that then.

As for the front flares, that was an 80's thing that a previous owner had done before the chop...why, I wish I knew. I asked him and he thought it was great, I just kept my mouth shut even though I am with everyone else on this one. He said he had 2" spacers on the front and the car handled incredibly well. The paint was a new Mitsubishi color at the time.

Here is the first rendition and then after the Cab conversion.

There should be a law against taste that bad.................It is unique..........thank god.

Kinda reminds me of the picture of the camaro made to look like a shark........

You should finish it..........having done plenty of restorations, I wouldn't wish that project on anyone, especially a novice.

This project simply needs someone with a complete donor car and the desire (time) to transfer every nut , bolt and wire to this body shell...

NOPE ! the value is the $10,000 or so it costs to turn another car into a cab. I often hear about custom cars where they say "You could not build it for that " when discussing the asking price...the question perhaps is Maybe it should not have been built...

Notice in the second pic, while it is still black and has a roof, there are 15 inch pd's on the front, and 16 inch pd's on the rear. Strange. Also, does the license plate in the first cab pic actually say "928 GTS"? WTF?

OK...we all agree that car needs a good slappin for being uniquely ugly...let's get past it shall we? The ugly could be lost very quickly...like in a day. Jim is correct (as he and I discussed this when I had first gotten the car), you just need a "rear" wrecked donor car, space to place them next to each other and the time to transfer what is needed. I see this as fun, sounds like many see this as a sentence for a federal crime.

Richard, true enough, but you didn't catch that the rear 16's are 8" er's. I did find it ironic that he got personal plates that said 928 GTS before there was even a GT! hmmmm.

I could sell the front fenders and the hood with scoops and nearly make the money I am asking for the whole car!

10 folks are watching the auction in their Ebay and over 1000 have viewed the auction. If the car sells to another lister in this thread, I wil expose your ***!

That's my 80's preppie collegic (sp?) look that all of my friends mothers asked their sons, "why can't you be more like Keith?...he's so...so ....(rrrrrrRRRRROOOOWWWwww) clean!" (as they re-adjust themselves)

LOL..Jim, How much cheaper can one get for something like this?

The worst part of all of this, is I really don't want to get rid of it!
