Looks great, especially set against that solid white background.... And who ever could have too much of the finest mark!?

I think it looks like you are worried someone might not know you are driving a Porsche.

First reaction is, Naaaaah. My experience has always been that original badging needs to be there and added badging looks somehow desperate and tacky. Great looking car though, the wheels are pretty cool too.

Agreed. In fact I think the less markings the better. The hood badge is simple, subdued, elegant and says it all.

I've often wondered; with the minimal badging, and the general publics confusion as to what in the hell we're driving, what would it be like with no badging? Not even the word PORSCHE on that gorgeous butt.

Geez, I guess the old school, 911 style "Porsche" lettering across the rocker panel is out of the question, eh?

I had a 356 emblems there for a time. I liked them, but eventually took them off.

I also agree with Sway Bar. The car is better than that and more understated than a Ferrari, which is what the other car was trying to copy by placing a decal on the fender above the rub strip. It is a form of bravado from a marque that doesn't need bravado. It also reminds me of a practice by 914 owners that insist no one will grant them status as Porsche owners until they place a Porsche badge on their hoods. (of course, 914s never had them there). Now it is hard to find a 914 without one (except mine). Leave the flash and bling and insecurity to the ricers. Porsches don't need to shout. They are more sophistocated than that. Why do you think everyone wants to race us? Who has the problem?

I also agree with the poster that anticipates finding the badge gone and a screwdriver scratch in its place.

Ron beat me to it. The ferrari guys pay 8 grand for the priviledge of having the factory place scuderia "shields" in that place. The japanese GTS site, which chuck was on and no longer exists, had some 928's with some really nice custom work. One gts had bigger shields and it looked great.

I think its nice, but should be bigger. Yes our cars are understated, but they are also the best porsche could make so show it.

Something a little bit different. I saw what Mike did on his car (www.928s4.ca) and found the idea interesting. Computer cut the job with lettering vinyl (got my own equipment) and put it on both side.

If you like it, that's all that matters. Personally, I like it without, but I do like the silver crest on white cars - Have you converted the hood crest to silver yet?

I think some of you are being a bit harsh. It looks good, but it's not something I'd do. After seeing PorKen's picture, it also looks better with the rub strips than without. It seems like very few Porsches are identical, with the number of color combos and options, and that this is the kind of addition that is tasteful but gives a slight change to the personality of the car. After all, how many other cars have an option for the rear type designation? I think this is very much in the spirit of that.

I also don't think they are going to disappear. Otherwise wouldn't we all be missing our front crest as well? Sure that wouldn't be too hard to pry off if you didn't care what the hood looked like afterwards.

And even Porsche has put on some garish "Hey I'm a Porsche!" lettering on cars, even very recently.

Chad, I don't like it Dude ... we have a local with a MASSIVE one also. I keep meaning to cover it in a big VOLVO badge ...... I saw a Ferrari with that sort of thing all over and I was thinking it looked incredibly tacky.
