Default Rising Rate Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator

Folks,

is there anything to gain by upgrading to the RRFPR with the following simple mods: x-pipe, no cats and Autothority software on an early 86S 32 valver? Or is the stock unit sufficient?

Thanks RDS

That's similar to the set-up that I have. I actually found that I needed to decrease the pressure to 27 lbs. on the regulator for the best ratio. Apparently AA over compensates in their fuel curves. Search last year's archives, specifically Mark Robinson's post before he started the turbo project and you'll find he confirms my experience. Thanks Ed M

Rising rate won't do anything unless you have boost. Some people see benefits from adjustable regulators with just exhaust mods.

In hindsight, using the AA chip mimics the boost in fuel pressure close enough to what a AFR would do close enough that I would not add that mod to my other car with only a chip upgrade and exhaust mods. Ed M

Ed,

Thanks. I'll keep the stock unit and get Carl's (928 Motorsports) fuel pressure guage to keep an eye on things.

Thanks Rich
