Car's at the Porsche Dealership in Honolulu: it gets transported to the mainland next week. Time do do some maintenance on my 965 as I got 3 weeks or so w/o a 928

...but aren't you going to feel really guilty putting miles on it? A pristine 0riginal 928 of 500 miles per year - and then it met you.
Congrats.

WRONG ... first thing- Don't ruin the look by removing the headlight beauty rings.

Uh, Ben, the original design used an 8" light.

Those 'beauty' rings as you refer to 'em were an after-thought in order to use US-compliant 7" lights. They were only installed on north american cars, and only because they had to do something to fill the gap. The use of a chrome surround was a terrible decision. Where else on a 928 do you find chrome?

'Beauty rings' - yer killin' me!

Incredible find, Mark...congratulations!

Also, I've seen and ridden in Abby's '86.5 and can heartily confirm that it is one clean and mean machine.

Chrome plated PLASTIC trim rings the ONLY chrome on a (928 except for door lock bezels 1978) and the bulged up 7 inch sealed beam lights give it a flounder look....

That is one red 928 I'd love to call my own...one of very few!

I hope sometime when I'm in Waco (only once a year these days) I can make a trip down to stare awestruck at it
