Default upgrading/modifying 79 fuel inejction

i posted a into previous so i'll keep it short what i'm trying to do it upgrade my fuel injection system to work with a turbo system i'm installing. first i need to get altleast 36# injectors in there so i'm going to ditch the stock system all together in favor of a megasquirt efi. (stand alone) the megasquirt uses a internal map sensor and works with boost. i can also control timming along with fuel ect. i realize this means changing everything. i'm going with an inline 225lph pump with new feed and new lager return also. i need to change the fuel injectors over to the later style. from what i've been able to tell shortly after my car was made they switched over to electronic fuel injection. the intakes look the same for a few years too. what i'd like to know is if i can phisicly fit a later bosch style fuel injector into the bung in the intake or would i need to swap over to a later intake? secondly, if i could use the fuel rails from an efi car it would be a great bonus. custom fuel rails arn't cheap. i'm currious if the spacing of the fuel injectors of the later motor is the same as my 79. i'm going to have to swap the fuel regulator as well as i need a boost referenced one also. this would be soooo much easier if i can buy 36# fuel injectors and just pop them in and use the efi fuel rail.... i hope so. any input??

The intake runners are different between CIS and the Electronic injection. Do a search for a write up on the difference. You might use "Ford injector" in the search because I seem to remember this mentioned in the thread.

You need an EFI intake - 80-84 US or 84-85 Euro S. You can then use almost any EFI injector with the stock fuel rails.

The runners come up on ebay from time to time. Or you might try 928Intl. I think you would only need the runners to have the bosses that you need to mount the EFI injectors. the plenum probably isn't that big a deal. Worth noting though, that as given how far you want to take this car the Euro runners offer additional flow beyond the US. Either that- or extrude honing is an expensive prospect!
