Default did porsche change a lot on the inside?

was wondering whether i can score interior parts from a descent car...
as close to 2006 as possible .
is everything interchangeable from the seats to the instrument cluster and electrics?
or would it be a lot of engineering to change out major components?
say if i found a wrecked 90 some 928...can i use the interior on my 83?
did someone here do something similar?

Yes, 928 interiors will fit in any 928. If you find a clear 90ish interior, talk to your credit union first. They are NOT cheap. Interior restoration with OEM components is very costly.
I read a professional restorer of American classics explain "forget the drivetrain and motor, those
are cheap and easy. What will bury you on time and money is restoring an interior."
Some things for latter interiors will not work - such as rear a/c vents and such.
Instrumentation and electronics are not swap out items.

Well, allmost everything will fit. Did a 91 ( or 90 or 92 or...) to a 78'. Not everything fitted right in. Most but not rearseats, doorpanels, rearpanels, roof.........the list goes on. But most of it only needs small changes, such as cutting a little metal here and there, and a little welding. But apart from that most thing fit

I bet my '85 interior may rival a 89-90 in care. Its all about how well the POs gave care, not the age(not when you talking about 15-20year old cars)... just try to find a car with nice interior regardless of year. Depending on leather/vinyl, on a leather car, im sure you would be out $4k from the front seats forward in good shape.

well, that is assuming a 'newer' 928 with all leather. I assume if you want to do leather if want to upgrade? or is your interior just shot?
Paul and Rob both recover interior and add awesome stitching for you. Rob can be found on ebay (don't know his site) and paul is found here
http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/PorscheLeather.html
Rob will do vinyl for you too(still with stitching) to my knowledge paul may not?
if you recover your peices you are looking at
A PILLARS $60.00 $50.00 $110.00
DASH $325.00 $150.00 $475.00
POD $325.00 $125.00 $450.00
CENTER CONSOLE $200.00 $100.00 $300.00
CASSETTE BOX $100.00 $100.00 $200.00
DOOR PANEL $100.00 $50.00 $150.00
ARMRESTS $300.00 $150.00 $450.00
DOOR INSERT LEATHER $90.00 0 $90.00
DOOR INSERT ACRYLIC $90.00 0 $90.00
BACK CONSOLE $200.00 $100.00 $300.00
REAR SEAT OUTBOARD PANELS $120.00 0 $120.00
SUN VISOR (PAIR FRONT) $100.00 $50.00 $150.00
SUN VISOR (PAIR REAR) $120.00 $50.00 $170.00
Installation is the middle # (it is highly recommended!)
then seats can be found on ebay or here for 700-1000 for a pair in excelent shape.
let me know exactly what your trying to accomplish, so we can help further

Newer rear seats (the folding part) can be fitted by cutting off old metal bracket, and drilling and installing 4 threaded rivets. (big aprox 14mm?) BTDT

Ahhhhh memories. Someday it will happen again but I vow that never again with an undocumented ill-maintained 928. Good luck man your gonna need it. Along with patience, and lots of $$$$$$$$$

Hell you got it fairly easy, Jim Bailey and partners should be able to set you up proper. What does the exterior look like?
