Default What should be done first - or does it matter?

After completing the TB/WP on my 84 I am turning my attention to the rest of the car and have several questions for the group.

What the car needs:
1) Brakes: All rotors have a penny thick lip, pads are gone and all the sensors need to be replaced. I am considering the Zimmermans for the rotors and metal masters for pads.

2) Shocks/Springs - There is a "bouncy" feeling when driving over rough pavement. I beleive this is either the shocks or springs (or both). I am considering Eibach springs with Bogi shocks - any problems with this combination?

3) Steering rack - The steering is "loose" and I can move the tie rod on the left end of the rack but the rack is not leaking so far. I figure replacing the rack bushings, boots and tie rods would be in order - any recommendations?

4) Motor mounts - I think mine have collapsed as the engine does not move while rapping the motor it is solid. There is a vibration that is evident when the engine is running and gets worse as RPM increases. I thought I might try the 928 motorsport mounts.

5) Oil pan gasket - the pan bolts were ridiculously loose when I did the TB/WP and I tighten them but I now have a leak. I am considering one of the new gaskets by 928 motorsports and possibly the stud kit for the oil pan - recommendations?

My main question: is there any special sequence in doing these things? I know that the mounts and pan gasket can be done while the rack is being replaced; however, could I do the rack first (mounts and gasket), then brakes and finally suspension or is there a defined sequence these need to happen in?

Also if anyone has any suggestions, feedback and tips or tricks concerning these procedures I would be interested in them.

Many thanks,

obviously you do safety first- so brakes. then group the other things like pan gasket, motor mounts, rack. shock and spring prolly last, but get on them if they are bad or you will wear out tires and cost you more money in the long run

Many thanks,

Tom do the brakes first like Zoltan suggested. Then do all the rest in one shot if possible, as this will save you money on alignments. I have scheduled to do next week these things:
Swaybars from 928 Spec (if they arrive in time)
Swaybar bushings
Motor Mounts
Pan Gasket
Steering Rack Bushings (solid)
Eibach springs & Bilstein shocks
Transmission mounts
and finally an Alignment

Oh and it all has to be done before July 22, when the PacNW has its' Heckowee Tour.

Zoltan - O.K brakes first, then gasket/mounts/rack. Finish up with shocks/springs and tires/alignment. Any special tools I need for rack or springs (other than compressors)?

Shane - Your list looks like mine without the brakes but with the bushings. Should I be doing bushings?

Thanks for the feedback

F-Troop?

I agree with them, 3,4, and 5 are easier with the engine out. But............
