Question Oil breather pipe,,where is it ???

Hi All

Finally got fed up of hitting the rev limiter (which I do a lot more now with my Nitrous system - lol) and the road behind me filling up with oil smoke from my exhausts...

Only happens when I hit limiter lol...

So.....designed myself a breather catch tank and pipe,,,,but CANNOT figure out WHICH pipe at engine end to connect it to ...so that fumes go to my catch tank rather than through engine ????

Mine is a RHD 16 Valve 4.7 ....any ideas please ??

All the best Brett

It's the fitting on the cap of the oil filler. The hose from there will run under the intake plenum. That's the one guiding the fumes back to the engine.

I've got a catch/seperator on my S. The outlet from the filler goes to it with the exhaust from the catch going to the air box. That controls the smell. The line to the intake is plugged.

Hi Glen

So I remove the pipe that is connected to THE CAP

Join my pipe to cap to go to my catch tank,,,

And block pipe that WAS connected to filler cap ???

And it is the FILLER CAP one..not the one on body of filler body just below it ??

Sorry to sound dim but I want this right lol

All the best Brett

PS: I'm starting a thread later tonight in which I detail my intake manifold refurb; Note in the above picture the hose from the oil filler cap to the....uhmm...where? is broken. It broke like it was glass about a month ago! 21 years of heat. This hose connects to the bottom of the "U" bend, below the throttle body, requiring me to pull the manifold to get to it. I'm installing Carl Faucett's oil control kit as well, since this requires removal of the coolant and the water bridge. Big job!

Best of luck!

Yes. The outlet on the cap is where the blow-by comes out of the engine on 16v cars. It takes a 1 inch hose so a 1 inch plug works on the stock hose.

I've left that breather hose in as I might want to re-connect the system like stock. Also, the bottom end is hard to get at.
