I'm looking into getting a timing light to check my timing on my 928. I never realized there were so many choices. I like the one that is cordless and uses 2 D batteries. Seems like it would be the easiest to use. All it checks is timing though. A lot of the corded ones have advance, retard, dwell, Tach and DC meter. Do I really need all of that for my 928? Is it OK to hook up to the positive terminal in the engine bay. What do you guys use?
Thanks
Thanks

I have a "standard" timing light - last week I bought the same Craftsman unit with the advance dial on it. If you plan on playing with advancing the timing - buy one with the advance dail - makes things much easier since whatever setting you might want to try is probably not stamped on the timing ring. Using one of these, you can dial in whatever timing you want by using the top-dead-center mark.
