Need 928 competent alignment shop in central Texas
Hey guys,
I need the name and number of a good alignment shop in my area. Anywhere from Austin to Dallas/Fort Worth area. I am in Waco which is almost in the middle of those two metro areas. There are very few sharks around here(Waco), and I really want this done right.
There is one guy here in town that align's cars the "old school" way. He doesn't use the laser/computer alignment rack so I don't think he has to pick up the car to zero a gizmo or roll the car back and forth. He aligned my old 67 Chevy truck since I had updated to newer 80's suspension and brake components. I didn't feel like hearing Pep boys or NTB freak out cause the suspension was not stock. The truck tracks perfectly and has no sign of adverse tire wear after a few thousand miles. My 928, on the other hand, had brand new front tires installed 3000 miles ago and the inside tread is already twice as wore down as the outside. I might give this guy a call, but this would be a big gamble on my part.
Thanks a bunch,
Mike V.

SoulSpeed in Austin does nothing but set up track cars & do sports car alignments. However, he's not cheap @ $129 for 928's & you usually have to do 928's twice since it requires (from what I've heard many a time) an alignment & then a subsequent adjustment to get it perfect.
