S4 morphed to a 4S ....
Not quite a S4 - but it is a 4S that will be sitting in my garage ..... one week to go before the three way exchange, delayed for tax purposes. My pal picks up his stunning new 997TT, the '96 993 C4S leaves with me, and my '88 S4 swaps to its new owner: all in all, it has been a rather clever deal that satisfies each party.
Of all the aircooled cars, it is the C4S that fires my imagination best: with a coil over front end, it retains much of the benefit of the 928 suspension design, and is a blast to drive.
In addition to my new "mistress" in pearl midnight blue, my package includes the full running gear from a red '96 C4S that I posted on some weeks ago: the earlier plan had been to buy a rolling 911 chassis to stuff all these goodies into - but plans do change .... ebay, here we come ..
My modestly modified '80 5-sp will always stay in a spot of honor - and it did itself proud in our season first PCA fun run last Sunday - so hope that this breach of faith does not have me stricken from this forum.

Garth if I was to branch out into other models of Porsches' the C4S would be my choice as well!! The only thing I would do different would be to look for either a Iris Blue Metallic or Arena Red, but the Midnight Blue would be a close third in color choice. Sweet ride!! And thanks for sharing!!

There will always be a soft spot in my heart for VW's.
Recently at Road America I was making nice with a pack of 911 owners. I made a comment I was looking around for a C4S 964 Cabrio. They seamed real interested in talking to me until I shared with them this will be my next winter car when I store the 928.

No visible rifle rack here ... more of a stealth machine a la James Bond ... concealed weaponry under the rear spoiler, co-pilot seat for ***** Galore, .... just a country club type of four wheeler

Three Wheelin'
Now Garth, if you'd just swap the the C4S into the background, and bring the red shark up front, that would be a sweet photo!
Congrats on the new wheels...I'm a C4 fan, too.
But secretly. [wink, wink]
