Default 993 Seat Install

Just a quick update for those that might be interested in installing 993 seats. Simple bolt in with minor wiring modification to mate the 993 pigtail with the 928 plug. They are quite comfortable and provide outstanding support. Not quite sport seats but pretty good none the less. Still have to recover the rear seats, but am considering a rear seat delete.

Did you have to drill new bolt holes?

No drilling required. Straight bolt in. Replaced the stock flathead allen bolts with cap heads which makes the install alittle easier.

Great look, but I don't think it will work if you do not do a rear seat delete

Hmm.... don't certain 996s come with pole positions as well? Would that mean that a PP seat could be bolt-in?

Just did the same thing a few weeks ago - very happy with the outcome, and much, much cheaper than recovering the existing seats...

They were a direct bolt-in, just a few wire splices to get the power seats to work. The tan seats were from a 95 993, and are the exact same leather as the original, so no need for a rear seat delete...

I'm retarded... I thought the thread was about 996 seats, but after a re-read, I realized it was for 993 seats.

996 seats can be fitted but they need to have a couple of holes drilled and some adapters made for mounting. I have installed a couple of sets in 928's with great results. The only thing you really need to watch for is if they came equipped with the memory functions. If so, you need to buy a new switch and wiring harness to control the motors and heaters.
