Successful OB road trip...Sacramento to Montana
The road trip delivery of my 79 OB is a success. My mom wanted the car, so I said I would deliver it to her. Left Sacramento solo at 4:30 this morning. Temps in the valley were scheduled to be near 110, so I needed the early start. Made 3 gas stops, and couple pee breaks, and pulled into my brother's place at 7:30 this evening. 900 miles with absolutely no problems! Tomorrow I'll drive the final 100 miles to my parents house. The section from Mt. Shasta to Bend, Or. was beautiful, but it was then a long boring slog to Spokane. The front of the car is caked with bugs from Klamath Falls.....I felt sorry for the motorcycle riders behind me. The bugs were so thick it looked like snow. While the roads in Oregon are nice, the Oregon drivers are SLOW.
After 900 miles my legs were sore, but I wasn't tired at all. I do wish my cruise control worked, my right leg was especially cramped. Small price to pay for a trouble free, purring V-8 road trip.
