Default 85/86 Rear muffler replacement

Does anyone know if there is a muffler upgrade available for the early 86S dual exhaust?
Apparently the Ansa is but r-listers say the Ansa is junk.
Someone must have a nice dual in dual out that could be adapted.

Rich,
The ansa looks terrible on a 928 IMOO.
I have one on my 82 Euro and will be replacing it with a Borla.

Roger,

I know the Ansa tips are an abortion. I was going to cut them off and add something nice.
For those of us with 85/86 side by side dual exhaust models there is no other option. I would love to get a Borla but there is no two in two out version.

I have an ansa on my 1980 and it sounded nice, I have a test pipe in place of the cat. The ansa looks like crap and it just started making a vibrating noise like one of the baffles is broken. I want to get a borla

I have an ANSA on my euro as well, it doesnt sound that bad, very deep. I could sell you mine if you want since my 2" dual exhaust is chopped up and I will be replacing it with a single 3" soon.

Here is where I learn something.
Does my 82 Euro have a duel system and is that why it has an ANSA on it?
I will crawl under and have a look today.
Could you not fit a Y pipe from Dave Lomas and then add a Borla?
Interested in the response.
Thanks,
Roger

AFAIK, the Euros came with dual exhaust. I think ANSA was a popular aftermarket exhaust. I am planning a Y into a 3" single pipe.

Is there a two in two out muffler that can be adapted in place of the stock unit?.
Will a two in single out muffler affect HP #s?.

i have the muffler shown on the link or something very similar to it in the place the cat used to be and twin pipes straight out the rear. it's loud. it's probably too loud for my taste. draws attention anytime you get on the gas.

yup, saw that magnaflow too. I definetly don't want loud. Iam looking more for the exotic v8,v10 euro exhaust note.
I have heard www.spintechmufflers.com comes close.
