Thanks,

The guy who developed the Promax chip was a 928 owner and contributor to the 928.org.uk email list, I've no personal experience but believe he had many happy customers.

My 86 #0393 had the 04 brain, so I don't think you had to go very far into 86 to get it.

I have a similar interest as lorenolsen888. I am really curious to see what the difference is between the Authority chips and all others. I am an EE at MSU and have access to tonnes of differenet kind of chip readers and burners. If any body has a set of Authority that they would care to loan me for a few days, I would love to see the code on the chips. Please get in contact with me if anyone would care to loan the chips to me and I could get the difinitive info on the chips. Thanks

Honest to goodness, I would not try to make a buck off of a fellow 928er (these cars are expensive enough as it is) However I would make a copy of them for myself so that I could play around with the maps and not toast my cars chips on the process. I did a bottom up install of a megasquirt v2.2 in a Merker xr4ti (a super lil bad *** car imho) and would like to do something similar to my shark, but alas I have no basline and I cannot use megatunix to adjust the stuff. Basically I need a baseline from the Authority chips so that I have a place to start from.

That would be a fairly easy change to implement or disable for that matter if one wished. It can probably be set where ever one wishes, i would think.
