I used Mobile1 15-50 and one tappet clicked until higher revs pumped it up...same with Red Line oil...then went to a quality dinosaur oil and Marvel Mystery Oil additive and, mysteriously, the tapping went away...now for about 2 years.

I think synthetics run "thin" and takes more revs to pump up a sticky valve lifter.
