You know, I believe the price in 1985 dollars was ~$65,000.

Hot damn, I didn't realize it was that expensive new. No wonder you don't see too many of them.

Mike,

Sorry to hear about your sale. You know you will be back. Keep in touch.

Nice to meet you last week. It is a small world isn't it?

Yes, who would have thought I would have met you where they sell boating supplies!
Anyway , Captain always goes down with the ship.

If I see ya , I'll say hello again, I'm sure.

Unhappy Looking for 928

Hello!,

my name is Simon Esik. If you recognize the last name that is because I am the son of Mike Esik. Sadly on April 26th 2017 he passed away. He was a big 928 geek and wizard. Him and I use to work on an 88’ 928 S4 black on tan manual. “WP0JB0923JS861620”. I am begging to find the owner and purchase the vehicle. I am new to this forum and I am on the 928 Forum Group on Facebook. I have posted there but I am dying to find this vehicle. A friend of my dads “Gary” bought it off him after and ever since then I have no idea where to find him. I’m located in Edmonton Alberta Canada. If you know the owner please email me or get in contact with me thru the forum. Thank you!

Simon,
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I don't know where your father's 928 is, but I wish you luck finding it.I will be on the lookout for it.

simon.........per our conversations on FB and with 928OC we have made some head way in resolving the link with the VIN you have for you dads car and other 928s.

I also advised the president of 928OC of this thread and the possibility of chasing the location of the car through the registry.

It is possible the car remains somewhat local in Alberta, Canada but the new owner has not updated the information with the Owners club. As we have previously discussed perhaps the car has been registered for driving and as such the respective agencies can assist.

If the vin is correct, the car is in Thornhill Ontario, just north of Toronto.

The vin is correct! I might fly down to Toronto and find it. But I have no clue if it stuck around in Alberta

It's here. If it was registered in any other province it would show up in our system. The $20 UVIP will give all the detail of when it came to Ontario, current owner and status etc., unfortunately I can't pull the info without giving the MTO $20. Even as an owner they still make us pay. LOL

EDIT, you must have the wrong VIN. This car has been in Ontario since 1992. I spent $20, see attached. Even if this car went to AB after 95 with a colour change, it would not show up in our system, I would only get a short message saying its registered in another province.

Maybe this info will help, maybe not.

If you are still 100% sure on that VIN I would do a carfax (carproof.ca was recently aquired by carfax). That might shed some more light on to this vehicle if it is not still registered here. Glitches do happen.

the VIN Simon has provided has been questioned several times especially given he describes the car as Black ext with a Tan interior and a 5 speed.

As recent as yesterday from the 928OC; " Double check the VIN you sent me. According to the VIN Decoder, the ninth digit should be a “9”, not the “3” in the VIN you originally sent me"

No records in our system with the 3 changed a 9. Even if out of province it should show up as the provinces are all connected.

Salut Simon

Gary Knox had a had a black S4 manual with a tan interior that he sold in about 2013. But that was in the US. Could the car have gone to the US?

Regards,

John
