Default Problem headlights, (S4) quick question

If you have your headlights on and then turn the switch to park do the headlights retract? Mine only retract when the park lights are turned off. When I turn the headlights off that bit works fine, i.e the headlight remains in the upright position but off. The headlights in every other regard work perfectly.

Thanks in advance

Part of the design, this way you can toggle headlight off/on to signal without activating motor.

Hi I would add this, if your going to wash the car, then key on, lights on, then headlight turned off, key off, then lights turned off, then wash the car this way you can clean the headlights, if you dont like this idea then try to lift the headlights up with everything off they should pop up with a little helpful tug but they wont be held up if pushed backwards........ Ahh one other thing do, a wire loom check make sure that the wire harness to the motor is clear of the actuating arm ,it has a tendency to rub on the headlight moving parts just in front of the headlight motor, and that both of the E clips are on the light bar arm, and if you really want something to do, remove the front inner fender well covers and see if the wire harness to each headlight is in a position so it wont bind/cut/shear on the inner harness wire loom to chassis clamp , if the wire loom is tight then it will eventually shear the wires, you will see what I am talking about when you open the fender well covers
