Default Fuel Level Indicator

need some help, I recently replaced the fuel level sending unit. Everything worked just fine for the past 3 weeks. Yesterday I repalced the heater control valve, filled up the shark today and low and behold my fuel indicator records just over a half a tank and I only added 5.9 gl of fuel before the pump stopped.
Could this be a ground issue, if so, where are the associated grounding locations.

I think its a 928 issue, mine has never recorded a full tank always about a quarter tank light on the guage. Sure is better than the other way around.

On my blue shark, the needle starts to fluctuate once my fuel level gets at or less than a 1/4 tank. Flickers up & down from 1/4 to 1/2 to 1/4 to 0 erratically & sporadically. Then eventually just goes to 0 & stays there, even though I've still got 1/8 to 1/4 of a tank of gas. Seems to be acting like something grounding out the way the needle flickers, but not sure & havent yet investigated further. Anyone else have this problem or the cure??

Mine only goes slightly above 3/4 when full and the PO warned that once it's below 1/4 head for the pump. I have yet to tempt fate and run out of gas OR see if my low fuel light really works.

I removed and replaced the gas tank on mine a few months ago, and it took 4+ gal to get the low gas light to go out, and at full tank it now says full!

Thanks for all of the replys, but before my fuel guage would indicate that it was FULL - indicator pegged at the full mark not below. This is my 2nd 928s4, my 1st 928s4 had the problem of never indicating full.
