Matt. Do you recommend 928 owners all bypass their idiot light? Or better-put ... what percentage of 928's do you recommend we disconnect the idiot light? Or better put, responding to the poster. Do you recommend he just not worry about it?
I regularly check my belt, so I'm not too worried about it. Seems to me that these standard checkups would point out any problem before the sensor would.
I think it's always been the way it is. It's grounded to the frame, but it seems like that wire is starting to fray a bit and break. I assume I should fix that up.

If he checks it regularly as he says he does, I'd say not to worry about it. I doubt your 90% number is remotely close to correct. I wouldn't be surprised if the existence of the system caused the deaths of more 928s than it saved.

If people didn't have the warning, they would be more paranoid and check the belt more often. With the warning system, people are lulled into a false sense of security.
