Have you driven a regular 300C with the Hemi? How do they compare?
I had a 300C Hemi as a rental. Liked the engine, stereo, and seats werent bad. Was quite the porker in the mountain pass I went through, wasnt impressed at all with the handling or steering or braking. And a bitch and a half to park/manouver in parking lots.
And the transmission was starting to act differently at the end compared to the beginning...

The suspension is soft from the factory on the regular RT/300C hemi.
The SRT8 option has stiffer springs, HUGE brembo brakes, etc...
Neither the SRT8 nor the regular hemi will handle as well as a 928.
But the SRT8 is not bad, and the regular hemi can handle better
with stiffer sway bars and springs. Without those mods, it is VERY
smooshy and soft... The transmission, like the 928, is a Mercedes
unit, and has been holding up fine under the load of some of
the supercharged hemis that are running around. It has some
lame traction control computing, that makes it act odd at times,
when it is trying to reduce the load on the transmission by
cutting engine power, when you really slam it. There is a
chipset out there that can remove the traction control,
and get very firm shifts. But may reduce the life of the
transmission in the long run. But overall, people say
the transmission is very beefy.

Looks like a fat & lazy tank to me
Can't believe companys are still making gasguzling monsters like that.
It weight what, 2 ton! It takes alot of power to move that thing the way everyone is saying it is!
To each is own...not my cup of tea.

I for one am glad that one of the Big 3 is again making big comfortable sedans with monster engines. To me the 300 and Charger SRT8 are the first exciting American sedans since the Impala SS of the early 90's. If I was worried about gas prices I wouldn't be driving a 928.
But like you said to each his own!

I personally feel the 300 series turns on a dime in my parking lot. I did drive the r/t but the srt got the NOD.
It would be interesting to see a 928 and my srt side by side even in the slalom or fig 8.....

These SRT8 are very fast. One passed me on the interstate and so I switched to the fast lane and maintaned his speed. He floored the car and I floored the SC (his car was loud so it must had some aftermarket exhaust). I had to downshift to 4th gear to keep up, after 5-8 sec we were going the same speed and I was gaining a bit (not as fast as I thought I would). At 140 mph I decided it was enough fun for Sunday driving so I slowed down to 80 mph and also because was wife was hitting me hard with her elbow, lol. She did not speak to me for about 5 minutes but damn that worth it. If my car was stock I would not had a chance against him.

Charger SRT8 numbers:
4280 lbs.
13.3 @ 108.2 mph in the quarter mile (4 tenth's quicker than the GTO)
0-60 mph = 4.9 seconds
top speed = 165 est.
fuel mileage = 13.5 est.
MDS not available on SRT8.
Chrysler 300C is slightly heavier than the Charger.
Chrysler has been sold to an investment group---no longer owned by Daimler/Benz.
Fully loaded Charger/Super Bee SRT8's are list pricing for around $47K.
Fit and finish on body panels are something to be desired on the R/T and lesser models--pretty bad, in fact, for a near $50K automobile--, although all of these are produced at Chrysler's Ontario facility. (can't the Canadians do anything right.....?????)![Confused](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
