SITM GAS ALERT! (from the South)
Have work to do in NC this week, so I drove up from FLA over the weekend.
If you are coming from the South on I-85...Just north of Spartanburg, I saw several truck stops with gas as low as $2.43 (Regular)!! Once you hit the NC line, it is 35-45 cents/gal higher!!!

I saw some very inexpensive gas in South Carolina recently, upon closer inspection, the cheapest gas contained ethanol. Not sure if this is good or bad.
NC you should plan to pay at least 2.95/gal for premium (93 octane). Give or take $.06

Andrew's got his map sideways. He's going through Tennessee.
If he gets his major projects (work) all done.
Is it easy to siphon gas out of, say, someone else's 928.
Ernest (NYC) Lucky if I get over 20mpg. Damn right foot.

Does this mean the once standard item to carry, the siphon.....er.....garden house segment, shall return to prominence? In high school it was a must have item in the trunk. Gas in the mouth was awful. Not that I ever did such a thing....but I heard of those that did....

I read recently that in the late '70s or early '80s, some guy invented a method of utilizing WATER to power his car; the hydrogen was extracted from the water and it was burned in the car engine. He "died of food poisoning" soon after demonstrating the effectiveness of the process. Smells fishy to me. What he proved was that we don't need petroleum to power our cars. Keep it in mind at every fill up.

more gas...
$2.51 at exit 11 on I75 in TN. That was two days ago. Paid two seventy something Sunday near robbinsville NC.
I'm working hard at getting the shark buttoned back up for SITM... but I was looking at the faded paint on the bumper last night and thinking that I really would hate to bring this thing to see a group of enthusiasts...
on the other hand, maybe someone will help change out the pass window motor (elminated the switch last night).

Bus,
If the door panel is held on like my '87's is held on, or not, I'll pitch in and help with the change-out. It really was fairly simple, and the window motor came out easier than I was lead to believe!
I plan to arrive sometime late afternoon on Friday. After chasing down our chalet, and getting everything settled down, I'm sure some or all of us will check out the crowd at the Holliday. Watch for a Cassisrot Ohio shark.
I saw a Shell station today, with $3.07.9 premium, here in central Ohio.... The "cut-rate" stations aren't much, if any, cheaper.... Think I'll try to reach W.Va. and see what kinda difference they have there.... Wonder how bad it'll be once it's time to leave for the OCIC event.....
