Dyno Results: 928 SPECIALISTS Twin Screw Supercharger Kit
Hi Guys,
Spent a great day doing some tuning runs (44 total) on the DynoJet at Bond's Career Center (same Dyno the South Carolina Guys used last weekend) today with the production version of our Twin Screw Supercharger kits and have some info to pass along (finally:-).
Dyno Testing on STOCK 90 GT with Stock Exhaust and Stock Cats (same system my 90 GT did 272 RWHP with last year) plus our new Twin Screw Intercooled SC Kit running our standard pulley and making 6.9 PSI at 6500rpm. We are also running stock Fuel Pressure, just remapping done with the SharkTuner (30lb Injectors). Testing was done WITHOUT our Cool Air Induction/Filter System( newest version not ready yet) and instead just open filters in the engine compartment attached directly to the MAFs with hood open during all testing. All runs were done from between 1200-1500rpm to approx 6500rpm in 4th gear.
Dyno chart posted is of run #19 after some initial adjustments. This and the previous 18 other runs before were all done in a time period of less than 2 hours (plus 24 more over the next 2 hours). There seemed to be no heat soak issues as power remained very close over 43 hard runs in approx 4 hours. FYI, Intercooler was just using water for these runs and the use of the alcohol based washer fluid should yield better results.
Please note Air/Fuel curve from the DynoJet is not correct a the data logged by the SharkTuner was a lot better although it still wasn't just right yet (will try to post A/F Plot from SharkTuner later) .
More system details plus final dyno tuning details and sheets will be available at SITM and on our website after that.
I am swamped getting ready for Sharks in the Mountains, trying to get the first kits ready for installs over the next few weeks and HOPEFULLY getting the Twin Screw 85 Euro S together before SITM.... so I am posting this real quick and please forgive me if I don't have time for a lot of discussion.

Dave, these are some excellent results!
It's amazing how well these cars respond to a little forced induction. This is a nice little gift that the engineers at Porsche gave us to work with, isn't it?
Congrats and I can't wait to see it at SITM.

Hi Tim,
>Dave, these are some excellent results!
Thanks, that means a lot to me coming from you. Believe me, in the last year I have developed a new found respect for all the hard work you have done over the years with your systems. As I am sure you know when you have great results that are even better than expected after all the hard work, agravation etc, it makes it all worth it!
>It's amazing how well these cars respond to a little forced induction.
AMEN!!
>This is a nice little gift that the engineers at Porsche gave us to work with, isn't it?
For sure, although I probably removed a "little" more of their engineering than you had to, hope they don't mind too much :-)
>Congrats and I can't wait to see it at SITM.
I hope you get to see at least 3 and maybe even more at SITM!!!
See ya soon and have a safe trip down,

That is SWEET! 456rwhp on barely 7psi. That's something like 26rwhp/psi. Using 272rwhp as a starting point, you really should only be making 18-20rwhp/psi. What happens when we throw one of your x-pipes into the mix? Don't tell me you haven't tried it yet

Thanks, it feels GREAT!

My latest air guide, throttle body, MAF design plus redesigning the inside of the intake dramtically increased the air flow. I got an almost 2 psi increase just from these latest changes on the same pulley as compared to all other versions ever used before including the Supermodel version I tested. I actually had to go to a larger pulley to get the boost back down to where I wanted it. It was a lot of trial and error and many redesigns to get it to flow in and out as well as it does now. Nine months of hard work has seemed to pay off (fingers crossed).

No clue, I wanted to keep everything as stock as possible during my development (only mod is an RMB), I even removed my Nology Spark Plug wires and installed stock spark plug wires. After Sharks in the Mountains I will schedule a day to do testing/tuning with our crossover and will make a new custom chip set optimized for those with our Twin Screw Kit that also have our Modular Crossover.

AMAZING...456rwhp (536 crank) with an otherwise stock setup!! Very nice indeed!! Shoot...with headers-x/pipe-3' dual exhaust...you will be pushing close to 500whp....very nice!!
Did you use 91 or 93 octane gas?

Hi Darien,
>AWSOME!! Those are very impressive numbers, and such low boost
Thanks! I was VERY pleased and honestly a little surprised. I was shooting for a solid safe 425 and would have been happy with that . It has been a great day!
>How much difference did the Shark Tuner make, was it easy to use?
I probably could not have done my system using stock original fuel pressures and with the perfect driveabilty that I have without the SharkTuner. For sure it wouldn't have been as easy and would have required more non factory hardware or an aftermarket non-928 specific engine management system to accomplish what I did with the SharkTuner.
And yes the SharkTuner is very easy to use. We will have one at Sharks in the Mountains for those that want to try it.
>CONGRATS

Hi Brian,
Thanks!
>Did you use 91 or 93 octane gas?
93 from a no name generic gas station on the trip to the dyno.
Thanks!

Will you kit work with our horrible CA 91 octane gas? Would you need to alter the chips a little bit?
