Default Front End Alignment - Completed - Update

OK, I went to a Sears auto shop which had a Hunter DSP 400 alignment machine. It's all done with cameras which provides extremely accurate results. 100th of a degree accuracy. It's a very slick operation. The shop guy came by recommendation who had 15 years experience and had done 928s before. It took him about an hour by the time it's all said and done.

So when he put it on the machine, all points showed RED. Umm..I think that is bad..

When he was done, all points showed GREEN. Ummm...good..

The car sure tracks a lot better when you have all the rubber hitting the road correctly.

One other thing, the hunter machine registered the same alignment specs for MY 78-90.

Total cost: $100 with a 6 month warranty
Total time: 1 hour

At extra cost and not as part of the alignment.

No because then they need the special pull down tool to re-align the car which the Sears I've tried do not have. In fact many locations will not touch a 928 becasue the book says they need the special tool and they don't carry it, but if you tell them that they don't need it becasue ride height is good, then they can do everything else. Ride height is best done by yourself and then go to the shop (after having driven at least 50 miles).
