I've found my wheels I think, 50mm offsets on the front, will have to run a 225/40-18, but how low can I keep my car w/o rubbing the front fenders? I have adjustable konis, Weltmeister springs, & DR anti-roll bars.

you might run into some serious tramlining issues with that low of an offset in the front

You can lower the front about an inch with 928 Club Sport springs.

Mark, I have pretty much the same set-up on my '89 GT, the biggest difference being the crimped fenders. Adj Konis on front with Weltmeister springs and 18" wheels with an offset of ET50, tires are 225/40 18. I have the GT lowered quite a bit. I just went out and measured from the ground to the top of the fender openning and it's 25 1/8". I get absolutely no rubbing. As far as tramlining I get a bit. I had an alignment done and had them set the front toe to near zero, that helped immensely. I also noticed I have a bit of movement in my steering rack, even with only 68k miles so I'm going to change out the steering rack bushings which should also help. We also checked an '87 with 115k miles, stock tires and wheels, who was complaining of tramlining and his rack was moving all over the place. I suspect this is a major issue with most 928s that haven't had a rack replacement where they got new rack bushings. My debate now is do I go with the solid bushings Motorsports is selling or use stock rubber bushings. Any thoughts out there?

I have a new rack coming & bushings (stock). The top of my front fender is 24.5", & with my stock wheels & tires, the beginning edge of the actual contact patch (part of the tire that shows wear from normal driving) is 1.25" in from the edge of the fender, if looking down on the fender & a tape measure touching the scrubbed part of the contact patch. I REALLY don't want to raise my car up: it looks soo much meaner slammed, & the turbo items still clear with flying colors.

stock: 65mm, stock 225/50-16 tire.

Worried that my new brakes might throw something off: using 993 rotors & adapters for S4 calipers on '79 spindles. Comments anyone??

Mark, I am running 8X18 ET52 with the same size tire as you and no rubbing or tramlining at all even the the height adjuster turned all the way down. The ground to fender lip measures at 25 1/8". Oh, this is on an 87' S4 with Bilstein/Eibach and no mod on fender.

Hmm, that's closer, I guess I could chance it....kind of a bummer that I'm so much lower than everyone else.

Matt, I'm running the same turbo twist IIs that Tony and Darien in Vegas are running. They've both posted pics of their wheels. These stick out about 3/8" more than my stock '89 GT club sports so I don't even notice it.
