928 Article, Pt. 2
"Excellence", June '06, issue is on the newstands.
928 article, part 2, begins on page 85. Good reading,
after a full day of shark-driving Mom around (well, I would've
had she still been here).
p.s. I see by the 6 o'clock news you new england/eastern
seaboard shark-sters aren't having such a balmy Mom's day.
Hope you're on high ground and have things battened down
in all the wind and rain.
Best of luck, all.

Very cool.
I will have to stop by my local Barnes and Noble and see if they have it yet. And while I'm there I'll just have to pick up the latest Grass Roots Motorsports, and oh yeah, as long as I'm there I may as well get Classic Motorsports too. -Ed

Definitely a must-read for the Weissach suspension details alone, but the rest of it contains many interesting points - for example the description of designer Wolfgang Mobius as an "East German perfectionist" is great.
Elsewhere in the issue is a very well done full-color DIY how-to on 944 clutch replacement. Wow, I knew it was bad but that's a lot of friggin work! At least there's no heavy lifting on the 928's timing belt.
It's the one with the (beautiful, I must admit) white 997 GT3 on the cover.

My brother-in-law will shortly be graduating from OSU in Mechanical Engineering.. In one of his final courses they are dealing with different steering, suspension, and transmissions... They are specifically focusing on the Weissach system! Awesome! I wish I were taking that course for sure.. Just a cool tidbit of info..

As I am in the sticks of mississippi, wouls someone be so kind as to scan and post the article. The closest place that would have that mag would be 30 minutes away. Thanks

Now I'm all for bootlegging things that are hard to come by, such as workshop manuals or 29-year-old magazine articles, but when it's available a hop and a skip down the road - or here:

I don't see the point.
