I've run Falken GR Beta FK 451s, which have been my favorites. Excellent grip dry and wet, attractive tread pattern, and good feel, but I only got about 7k miles of spirited driving out of the rears.

I've had Pirello P Zero Asimetricos, but they were noisy and did nothing good in the rain.

Currently running Kumho Ecsta MXs, and so far, pretty good performance, although I really don't like the sidewall design, which has what look like stylized flames, suggestive of Hot Wheels.

Also, the front 225/17s appear to bulge on my 7.5" wide rims; feel is okay, but I think a narrower casing would tighten up turn-in. Maybe I'll try higher PSI, too. Anyway, that damn sidewall design will keep me out of MXs again.

 

I went from PS2s to Fuzions. Very happy with the cheaper rubber.

 

They came off last Thursday before the trip to SC Dyno Day. The Kumhos were on the rear when I bought it and were well worn but the fronts were new Proxes 4s so I only had to change two. I guess some new pics are in order.

I heard from the my tire guy that if you run the Fuzions HARD - like on the track - they start to "chunck" off? Any truth to this?.

 

on a stock S4 (no rolling) will 275s work on a 9.5 rim?

 

yes, I put 275s on the rear 9.5 x 17 turbo twist rims non rolled fender although its close.

 

the michelin PS2 is a very good tyre, excellent dry and wet grip as well as great handling.

Just replaced my front Pilots with Potenza RE750s. Improved the ride and noise
level DRAMATICALLY. Finally found a tire that works on my car!

 

I went with the PS2's as well after researching alot. There 265/35 rear and 225/40 front. There sticky, and quiter etc. as said before than the previous Contis. I was suprised not to find an "N" rating on them...Doesn't Porsche do this to the factory approved/ tested tires?

I opted for the BF Goodrich G-Force sports. I've been pretty happy with them so far. Good grip dry, fair when wet, and genereally quiet. They were the same price as the Fuzion ZRi's so they were a pretty good value. (225's up fron, 275s on back.)

 

Just picked up an 89 944 S2 came with the Nitto tires on them. Not sure of the model but they have to be the worst tires I have ever driven on. On dry pavement they remind me of Perelli P6's of 20+ years ago in the wet. I was doing 4 wheel drifts around easy turns while following my wife in the Cayenne.

I have the PS2's on mine and although pricey are excellent tires. Hold equally well in wet and dry. I find they are a little nervous on worn straight highway sections but not bad. Far better than the PZero Rossos' or the S02's I recently changed out on other vehicles.
