I had some ideas to photoshop that pic for a fun signature. I put the "original" there to see how it looked overall. I never got around to creating my original idea.
It's very rare to see myself in pictures since I'm always the one behind the camera. So I decided to have some fun with this one.

Here's a pic of my hood pad and crest as promised. Note that the hood is NOT on the car.
And since I'm posting pics... the second pic is of my freshly painted rear caliper.

Cool, thanks. Hoodliner is on my list.
BTW, either my car will run tomorrow or you may have an incinerated Euro for the shrine. We'll see how good my wiring repairs were....

OK. Just recieved my liner!
The old liner was horrendous!! It was pretty well seperated and I believe was the original on my 84. There was still a tiny bit of waffle shape left but not much. Every time I opened the hood there were dust piles on top of the intakes. It would flake and dust down consistantly.
Really the only one of the problems I had that just made me mad! Arrrgh.
Not any more!
I used a vacuum to get the old liner off... while the hood was on the car. I tried to use the adhesive remover... while the hood was on... wont try that again, useless, sooo... (see first pic)
I used a ton of adhesive remover about a 3rd of the way each time. That stuff cant dry out or else it regenerates adhesive, so scrape it off with your plastic knife after about 3 minutes, that way you will be done with the last wet adhesive just before it starts to dry out. Get it all as clean as possible, some area around the lip are hard to get, a rag and some WD-40 will help.
Then I put the new liner on with 3M adhesive, I used a lot of it!! Probably too much. Had a buddy help line it up, it was still very tough to get it perfect... I didnt, but close.
It looked great! Then I put the sticker on with some dish soap water from a spray bottle. Let it dry after credit carding all the air/bubbles/extra water out. (see second pic)
Hood installation was tougher than I expected, but it went back on better than it was before! I know I will still need helpp getting right if someone is willing at SITM. It is wedged to the max right on the passenger side.
Looks great! I love it!! Fantastic product that I dont see breaking down like the OEM version. Well worth the time and $$ (see third pic)

Oh yea, and if you get any of the new adhesive on the hood... a paper towel and a tiny bit of brake clean will get it right off. Just make sure to follow up with a clean wipe of just paper towel.
Also, that WD-40 will remove the new adhesive (just gojo wont) from your HANDS!! HA!

Could we get some more pics of your car from the front with thw hood down and outside, both street level and standing. I like the look of it in the picture above, the white is showing the curves really well and nice contrast with the black bits.

I have to go to work, but tomorrow morning when I get home I will try to take more. I have made some significant changes since i got it, none of my photos have all the changes. I often worry about showing photos knowing that there are a few *nasty* lurkers who have been known to risk some pretty ****ty things against other members sharks... even when they are welll stored in their tanks!!
THANKS FOR ASKIN THOUGH!!!!

Did you remove all the old paint from the caliper before painting it?
