Or simply bypass the LH and Spark brains and crank the engine on the starter motor to "prelube" all the moving parts before you light the fire ...

As I'm sure you know, a properly maintained 928 short-block can last a long, long time. Nonetheless, the valve guides, especially the exhaust ones on an S4, will wear out well before the cylinders/pistons/rings. Although a pre-oiler is a good idea, it won't help extend the life of the valve guides.
