You dont want to hang around the WI crowd.

I think there is more HP in that state than others...some of them combined.!!
Tim, Hacker, Carl...Mike (close enough to WI)

good group and lots of knowledge

The Minnesota 928 group (mostly in the Twin Cities) spent this morning leaving black marks on the pavement of Western Wisconsin along Lake Peppin. If you're in that area, join us at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Minnesota928s .

Hi Trip,

Sounds like I live ~20 minutes northwest of you and am part of a group called 928 Great Lakes Owners Club, http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/gloc/, as Tony mentioned there are some hard core 928 enthusiasts in WI/northern IL.

PM me or check out the gloc website for more info.

What year and model 928 do you have?

Cool, another Wisconsinite! As Tony mentioned, Green Bay has five (that I know of) supercharged 928's running around. Then we have a few more 928's in Waukausha, including Jean-Louis and his Euro race car.

I make my way down to Road America for pretty much every event held there. Let me know if you are ever heading out to RA or NE-Wisconsin.

Tommy Bartlett's (Of Wis. Dells fame) 928 was for sale in the Madison paper about a month ago. It was an OB, gold in color, and not low milage. I remember thinking it was an insanely high price they were asking, close to $20K if i remember right. Anyone else notice that?

Trip, the 928 GLOC is a fun group who really appreciates 928's. In reality though, we are just a bunch of hard-core car-guys who appreciate a fine automobile, regardless of what it is, though heavily biased towards the 928!

The next big outing is Memorial weekend at Road America which is 3 whole days of driving on the longest, fastest track in North America, right in your/our backyard.

This Saturday we will by dynoing a murf928 supercharged 84 Euro racecar at Borchardt's on 27th and College; you are more than welcome to attend. If everything goes well, the 5 psi should yield about 370 rwhp which is GT3 territory.

Jean-Louis did an RA best 2:32.00 (..HotLap) with 270 rwhp in his 4.7L Euro, so it will be interesting to see what happens on the track with another 100 hp at the rear wheels.

I am also in Wisconsin, or at least the 928 is. I get there most weekends. I have an '85 that was purchased as a project car last year. In the middle of TB/WP project with the intention of cleaning and powder coating as I go. I was planning on visiting the group at Road America on Memorial weekend but now I am going to be stuck in Chicago. I also look forward to getting to know more of the Wisconsin connection.

What's on Memorial Day? The big PCA Porsche race weekend is Labor Day.

I've got rooms booked for that and the Nord Stern DE July 10-11.

Dave McK, Borys and I (Tim) live in the Chicagoland area. I guess SwayBar does too.

One of these days we're going to have to talk about convening our 928s. Perhaps in Madison. We'll pick a Sunday when the Bears are playing the Pack and meet at a watering hole. I love Wisconsin!

Chicago Bears play the Pack at Lambeau Field on September 10 - that is still 928 weather.

I live 2 1/2 blocks from Lambeau Field - I can fit about 35 cars on my lawn, I say we have a Packer / Bear tailgate - 928 car show that day.
