Fender liner removal

On my 88 the front liners are just the screws and the liner fits tight up under the lip of the fender. I had both of mine off last weekend to change the running lights. Just follow the screws starting from the lower front and work your way up along the top towards the rear should be 8 to 10 that need to be removed. Once their out I pulled down the liner to release the pressure and ran my index finger up under the lip and it came right off.

Just the screws, road grime and one stud with a flanged nut on mine - but all easily visble. They are a kind of springy fit into position when new - assume heating makes them comform more to the final shape - just wiggle and especially seperate from the fender lip area where they hang up the most.
Most important - just take the wheel off if you didn't already - way too hard with it still on - possible I hear - but way too hard (especially with >16" wheels)
On re-installing my new liners I decided to add bigger fender washers and new screws - had to paint them black to match - but the stock screws in mine (w/ tiny washers) were contributing to chewing up the holes in the liners - especially the splash shields... a thought (ACE H/W worked for me). You may want to check the speed nuts and change those too if they need it...
