Default WTB- Looking for center console for my '82

preferably in chocolate brown as that is the actual color i need, but would settle for black. Anyone have one i could buy? Mine is TOtally missing, so i need the whole thing not just the top or whatever. Maybe i can motivate someone to strip down their interior
thought i would just give it a shot

I should have a pair in mid-May for sale, in brown. PM me, tell me what you think they're worth.

Mark.

Good call Rixter early cars often did not have them... and the thin plastic lids often get broken when used a bit too much as an arm rest. If you do not see exposed metal mounts on the tunnel it was never there.

no there is a blank spot there with 4 holes to screw something down. That is just bare carpet on some old models?

Both of mine were originally broken, but the leather was still good. I pulled the deteriorated liner out, cleaned the surface under the liner and cut a piece of 1/8in plexiglas to fit just slighter inside so the frame would fit back in and glued it with trim adhesive and they are both solid as a rock and straight. I used another similar piece of plexiglass on the outside to clamp against so I didn't mar the leather outside surface. Clamp the pucky out of it and let it sit overnight. (The plexiglas is strong and easy to trim with a sander or grinder to make it fit perfectly, but check the fit with the frame BEFORE you glue anything)

You can then clean and glue the black liner back in and it looks like new inside and out.

The last new price I show for one was $606.00 no idea what it is now, a leather lid was over $300 the hinge is not bad at less than $20. Someone must have one hanging out in their garage.....

hopefully, or im gonna wait for Mark to part his out then. I wouldn't even bother if it wasn't obvious something should go there. When people get in the car I don't want them looking there and saying 'Ghetto' in their head .. Also, i am gonna be selling it soon to upgrade to a 32V so i want the car in tip top shape so i can get enough cash to upgrade!
