Difference between stock exhaust <82 vs. 83 up?
Trying to replace a tired exhaust on my '80 5speed US car. Mark K. made me a generous offer to purchase the stock system off his '84 US car. I notice in a catalog that the 80 to 82 system is different than the 83 up 16 valve cars... the difference was part numbers for the rear portion of the system after the resonator.
Does anyone know what this difference is? Will Mark's '84 system work on my '80 without any additional modifications?
I want a stock sounding system that allows the quietest interior levels... but I'm also not in a position to pay a lot of money for new replacments. Anyone have any other options?

The rear muffler (aka pumpkin) has a dual inlet in '83. The rest of the US system is single pipe, which goes into Y just before the muffler.
The euros have dual pipes (following the same path as the US single), so I guess they decided to go with one part number for the muffler.
