Default Needed Throttle Switch Cable

Guys, anyone have a spare 3 wire throttle switch cable ? The one that runs from the connector on the throttle switch to the bracketed connector just below the strut brace, on the bracket mounted to the water crossover housing. This part, apparently isn't sold as a "hust the electrical cable, and buying a new switch at $80+ when all I need is the electrical cable is kind of overkill. Let me know if you can help with this part anyone.

Check with DR at 928 Specialties. They may not be as expensive as you think.

thanks Oldtee...BUT, I believe DR, and 928 Intl, both sell the throttle switch as an "assembly"...including the electrical harness connector (even though it is a removeable and separate piece from the switch). And I DON"T want to purchase a new switch when mine is perfectly functional, except the broken 3 pin connector, where the throttle switch conncets to the main engine FI harness below the crossbrace, Mine is "useable" as-is...but, the plastic surrounding the 3 pin connector is broken on the throttle switch harness side of the connector. It is only secured by a wire clip to the throttle swich, and on the other end as well. So, I was hoping someone might have had a bad switch that they had replaced, and could spare the electrical harness part which is included with the "new" replacement switch...

Jeff,

I ran into the same problem last year, and spent a lot of time looking for a replacement harness. Unfortunately, I was told by DR that it was no longer available at that time (not even with the switch, so I wonder if Porsche is at least making the switch/harness now). I even came across a used parts place in Atlanta asking $200 for the harness! (He asked me to see if I can find it anywhere else!). I couldn't find a used one anywhere else (bad design, they break over time). So, I just bought some GM connectors, replaced both ends of the connector and rewired it myself. Works fine, just would've liked to have kept things all Porsche original.

I think JohnDoe is planning on making these for sale. I'd contact him...I think many would want this!

Mark...you're right about John Dozbush...I had HIGH hopes he would be able to provide the harness connector wiring to the throttle switch, and he was the first person I contacted to see...unfortunately, he doesn't have this part. So I posted here on the list to see if any of the "goodguys" here might have a throttle switch that still had the cable on it...so far no luck. I did PM Rixter, and see if he might have one, and am waiting to hear back from him on it, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Like I said...mine is "useable"...the plastic around the pins where the connector joins with the engine harness under the strut brace is broken. But...the pins will hold it together when its connected. I'm just a perfectionist, and don't like a broken harness connector if I can do something about it...
