Default Loose Roof Edge Strip

Does anyone know what type of adhesive to use to resecure this part? It came loose after a DE at Road America last weekend. Too much high speed driving I guess. Car is a 1980 Euro S.

Thanks,

I think that the factory uses an adhesive similar to windshield sealant, a 2 part epoxy after installing the sealant I would put some blue tape on the part while the sealant cures, Stan

I thought that was a pinch fit. The black piece that runs from the top to bottom of the windshield uses tape / adhesive, but I am pretty sure the long strip that runs from the front of the hatch down to the hood does not use adhesive. I know I had a hell of a time reinstalling mine after my repaint. Kind of hard to tell from the pic which one has moved. It almost looks like both sections have moved. My windshield section occasionally moves a bit and I just give it a tap with a rubber mallett to get it back into place.

The color matched trim pieces that run from the front edge of the hatch to the bottom of the windshield seem like they could be a press fit however I have seen a few cars where the strips are actually glued on with a eurothane type adhesive and next to impossible to remove with out destroying them, if your car doesnt have any glue on the strips that should make it easier for there removal and refit

I ended up using a small amount of clear RTV and gently tapped it back into place with a rubber mallet. Time will tell. Thanks for everyones input.
