Welcome ladies and gents. Here's tonight's headliner...
I've decided to go after the stuck sunroof by taking off the headliner. The rubber gasket is loose on the perimeter of the sunroof so it must be stuck within the ribbed cables. I've tried a power drill for maximum crank torque, and all I got was a piece of metal screw shrapnel in my eye.
So - any special cautions with the headliner removal?
Thanks everybody!
Peace,
Tim

Hi I dont think that you can remove the interior headliner unless the sunroof is removed first. So to remove the headliner remove the sunroof then you will see about 18 screws that hold the interior headliner to the sunroof opening. If the sunroof wont open then you will have to woork the roof open by hand, try turning the motor /gearbox rubber connector this is accessable by removing the cover at the back of the interior headliner just pull down gently on the rear portion of the cover and you will see a metal wire that is hooked onto the rear cover gently pull the wire down and move it to the rear and the wire should unhook then slide the cover back to remove it,goodluck, Stan

Ah, then I have a Catch-22! It's futile to try and remove the headliner so as to get to the sunroof, since you have to remove the sunroof to get to the headliner.
The motor cover you mention has been removed for weeks. I've been using both a manual crank on the motor gear assembly and, more recently, a power drill to try to move the cables. I have also tried nudging the sunroof down towards the back to encourage its movement. Seems I'll just have to keep trying that.
Thanks and Peace,
Tim

First sunroof movement is down at the rear of the panel, so that it can then slide back. Applying as much downward pressure as possible without denting the panel should help.
Again, turning the rubber connector by hand should also help.
Are you sure that you are turning the screw in the correct direction?
