Weired ignition key problem
Got my new key blanks in today, I needed a new short key. Anyway I tried the short key and it went in after a bit of trouble and the car started and all was well. Parked the car and came back 2 hours later and noticed the radio illumination lights were on...even though the car was off and the radio was off! Got my old key and tried to start the car and the key would NOT go into the igninition! It was like it was totally the wrong key. I tried and tried and it only went into the ignition about a quarter length. After 15 minutes of cussing and fighting I gave up. On a whim I tried the new short key and...it went in and started the car, so I moved it into the garage and turned the car off. After this all was well again and my old key worked???? WTF......Can anybody tell me what the 928 gods were up to?

Hi try some lock lubricant,WD 40 should work , not too much, it sounds like the tumblers in the lock cylinder may be getting ready to retire, As a side note if you have a bunch of keys dangling from your keychain, this will speed up the early retirment of the ignition lock cylinder, Stan
