Default revised revision of interior door panels...

I took off the aluminum - bolt - wood look of the interior of my shaved doors and simplified the doors with steel panels that are painted to match the exterior color... since I have electric poppers, I replaced the handles with buttons and have emergency pulls hidden inside the door pockets.

I applaud your ingenuity. Could I get a couple of pics of the poppers and your opinion of them? How difficult were they to instal etc. Thanks.

Much, much better, but still a little too 50's looking in my opinion. I still love the headliner.

I have no detailed pictures of the door poppers, as I did not do the install... I understand they were not too difficult except the wiring which needs an active lead from the rear battery... lots of wire.

OK now how about making console side covers painted to match ? sure it is a bit retro but might tie in the door panel accent color...This new look sure is much more pleasing to my eye !

Eventually I'll expand more orange and replace the wood and aluminum

You could post pics of the old look for comparisons sake.

That's a BIG step ahead, Rick!!!

Now, if I were you, I'd consider removing the wood trim on the door vents, and replacing the console's current wood and metal trim with matching orange trim to tie things together.

Remember: reduce, reduce, reduce. Limit yourself to as few materials and colors as possible!

Those are comments from our resident interior designer ! who I believe is admittedly into modern minimalist. Excellent points however.

The console is very "busy"... my plan is a simple perhaps metal panel eliminating seams painted same orange.
