Default Does Fuel Pump Performance Slowly Degrade Over Time?

Just wondering if a fuel pump's performance slowly degrades over time, or if it works, it works at full power. I think my wot performance might be off a little and was wondering if it could be due to poor fuel pressure at full throttle.

also, would there be any benefit in installing the S4 fuel pump? 84 euro. Thanks.

My fuel pump has a constant noise, a sort of whining...I guess its time for a new pump and filter.

Whining pump does not mean bad pump in all cases.

I just know that if the pump goes out on a long trip, you're SOL for a few days so I carry a spare pump. Probably better to put in a new one and carry your old one as a spare. Not sure how to store a used pump though so you don't get gas smell or so (if you clean it out) it doesn't freeze up from non-use.
