When it comes to wheels I have very simple taste. I like a clean basic 5-spoke. I really like the 997 19" Carrera Classic wheel, keeping my eyes open for a set to install on the 81. I am not ready to shell out the money for 19" race tires so I'm keeping 18" on the 79.

Keith - I took the picture above the front fender showing the tire NOT sticking out past the fender just for you! I agree the "sticking out" look is not correct. This had me worried before I mounted them, these are damn close. My previous tires at et52 stuck out about 1/4 inch, drove me nuts.

They look great, you should be very happy, atlast we have a genuine wheel that fits properly. We should all rejoice in that. Well done.

Now I can see them. Very nice!

It's also interesting to see a 928 next to a Hummer - the difference in height is in fact scary. It seems like the Hummer's front bumper starts in about the height of a 928 mirror. Hopefully I'll never have a violent encounter with one of those...

Brother-in-laws H2. Those tires are much larger than factory. He is one of the few H2 owners who actually use his truck for what it was designed for.

Glen - lower, at least 2" when compared to an S4 - I'm not sure what the stock ride height is on a 79.

Geesh, I be embarrassed to post pics of my car THAT dirty.

Nice combo, especially with an intact chin spoiler.

I've driven about 200 miles since installing it - 3/4 of those were on the track. I **** off a lot of drivers on the road since I pull into parking lots so slow.

I'm not usually won over by the early body style......your car makes me rethink everything I thought about them. I always felt that there was an awkardness to the rounded cars, but I've been corrected. The wrong ride height and small wheel/tires can ruin any car. I've also seen very few early 928's in the midwest so nice.

The wheels look very good on your car. The simple 5 spokes look great with the black.

Your track car looks better than my street car.

Eric,

Nice pics! Is this a car you just bought? Is it a 79? if so where did that spoiler come from? And what about the rust on the discs? and the low-looking ride ht. and and.. Just kidding. I think the wheels look fantastic. I always felt that the shape of the wheel wells were the nicest detail of 928s, and those wheels really show them off. - Ruf

Some coloured center caps would finish them off nicely - find 'em on eBay.

Jim Page had the spoiler in stock - the car was already modified to have the spoiler, except the one my car came with was 3/4 missing.

Do you mean with painted crests? If so, I am thinking about getting a set.

then there's that cascade.....ya see, now those brakes look small and you're going to have to pony up for a big (huge, giant) big brake set! And you have too many toys- quit it!
j/k!
