Default Loose Dipstick

Can you purchase the rubber part on the dipstick separately or do you have to buy a whole new one? I've looked and find no info. Mine is very loose and i think i'm getting a vacuum leak. Any ideas how to reliably fix this? Does anyone have a good one they want to sell? 84 Euro. Thanks.

928 Intl will sell you a good used one for a very reasonable price.

you cant actually get a vacuum leak from the dipstick because it is part of the crankcase not the inlet manifold. meaning all you will get is less crankcase pressure.

Yeah, but the dipstick will blow out of the hole, even on a good engine. You can sleeve it with heat shrink tape or electrical tape. I chose to replace mine.

Replacement dipsticks are cheap...the new ones will have an O ring on it already....I've noticed that old dipsticks tend to crack right around the O ring anyway....super glue will fix it for a little while, but it will crack again
