Default 255/40-17 Tires needed

Just wondering if anyone has decent tires they want to unload before I go buy new - 255/40-17....

Go with a 275 - they're not that much more in a 17" size but the extra width looks impressive.

Any fitment problem with the extra width on an OB? I currently have 255/40's.

I had 'em on my previous '79 with no rolled fender lips.

Thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to know/hear. I will be purchasing a full set within a month or two, so wider in the back is always better; for cars, that is... .

Randy - these are for the wheels I got from you - the 275's should fit ok? It's going on my 88 S4.

Assuming they're a 10" rim 275's shoudl fit fin without rolling, but it kind of depends on the tire. If it does rub, you can simply pull on the fender. It'll bend out a couple of mm's, but beyond that, you'll need to roll them, but my guess is they will fit without issue. You might even be able to get a 285 if you can find one - pretty rare size though in my experience.
