Default 930 17" Turbo Twists on '85 928S?

Hey gang,

I'm looking for some 17" wheels for my '85 928S. On a bit of a budget, but saw some Turbo Twists from a 930 for sale locally that look interesting, but I'm thinking they're not going to fit.

The sizes listed are:

Fronts are 7.5Jx17 ET 23, tire size: P 225/45 ZR 17 84W M+S (Pirelli P7000 SuperSport)
Rears are 9Jx17 ET15, tire size: P 255/40 ZR 17 94 W M+S (Pirelli P7000 SuperSport)

He also mentions: They fit the 930 with the stock spacers. Measurement from Inside rim to bolt surface on rear is 5 ¾” Measurement from Inside rim to bolt surface on fronts is 5 ¼”.

I've searched and researched and from what I can see, it looks like the offset is not even close. But I'm wondering if there are some spacers or something that could be used to make them work.

And apologizes for my ignorance, but math is not one of my strong points (that's why I married a gal with a Masters in Finance!).

Anyway, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Ed

I don't think they will work since your car was designed to take a 7x16 ET65mm rim with 21mm spacer on the rear....those rims are just too deep dish to work?

Ha ha. No doubt. I could see myself lugging them home without even test fitting them just because I thought they were a good deal, then rigging them up and having them stick out 6" on each side, and somehow convincing myself that it looks great and improves the handling to boot.

If they have tires, see if the owner will let you bolt them on for a picture - would be great for the 928 archives.
