Hi All

Talking about Decibels....as I said my tickover reading is 98 DB...and listening to it...it doesnt sound like it SHOULD be 98.....as someone in this thread said...its like a LOW DEEP RUMBLE...it does NOT sound particularly LOUD...it just sounds DEEP.....??
Now...I dont know much about sound....is it a specific frequency that makes it read 98 or something else ??

Hoping for a sound expert to chip in here lol

All the best Brett

hi brett, i drove my S2 for a while like you have yours now albeit with an ott )( pipe and rmb. absolutely loved the sound especialy when driving past something that would reflect it back in towards the car, right around 4000 rpm was the sweet spot others describe the sound as ripping silk, surely they have mufflers!! ended up with a complete 2.5" dual system to compliment the GTS powerplant, it was custom fabbed by JP exhausts in maclesfield and when i was discussing with them i gave them the impossible task of making it quieter but not really, its great having a raucously loud 928! i cant wait to put an x on the SE with its current rmb...

I ran an Ott 'x' on my Euro for a while. I had a used 32V exhaust from the X-pipe rearward. Right now I'm running GT cats, to Ansa Sport center section to Euro final muffler. Sounds like a mess, but its a tight install and sounds very nice to me.
Of course, I can't leave well enough alone...did you know that Magnaflow makes a stainless dual-in/dual-out muffler with their 'x' in the center of the packing? I have one, I'm thinking about getting the Ott 'X' modified with the muffler in place of the merge....I'm just concerned that it will be louder than I want compared to the GT cats.
