Cure for broken visor clips, maybe.

I seem to break the driverside visor clip just about every three months. The part itself always breaks in the same place, right where the screw head sits.
It's not the cost that annoys me($1.75), it's the flapping visor. Well, I have studied the problem and I think I know why it fails. I noticed that the visor clip can wiggle back and forth. Sooner or later it will break.
I used a utility knife to trim of about 1/8 to 3/16 off the base of the clip. The allows the insert to fully set inside the headliner and also removes the flimsy edge. Now, when I move the visor back and forth the clip does not flex at all.
Hope this helps those with the same frustration.

I've never had a problem with the visor clip. Are you sure there isn't something else wrong that allows your clip to move back and forth?

I found visor clip replacement is directly related to having a warped headliner, I went through a number of them until I found a good replacement.
You are rught though, it sure is frustrating.
Overtightening the screw does not help.
