1st 2006 event in Detroit - 4/15 @ Munk's Motors
From Dennis (SueDen):
Hello all,
On Saturday April 15th at 10:00 am, MUNK'S Motors will be hosting their third shark tech session for 928 owners or those interested in owning and mataining of these cars.
Topics will include :
Tips and procedures for 928's, Dave (Big Dave) Kocab will be giving a tech on the thurst bearing -flex plate issue that is a must do on all automatic trans cars - just ask Rob Fisher he lost an engine to exactly this!
We will also be hoisting cars so you can get a handle on what your car may need to have done to it. And you all should know how much you can or can't spend because of your INCOME TAX ! Hopefully no one had to pay. Anyway pizza + pop and of course BEER will be served . this is a no - charge event hosted by Munk's and the Michigan region of the 928 OC so come out and support us both!
Munk's is located at 3080 w. Huron(M-59) Waterford Mi 48328
Phone: # 1-248-681-8081 their web site is www.munk's.com
Please a show of force would be real good last one I think there were 20-24 cars!
Again thanks for your support,
Dennis

I'll be driving back from Atlanta that day & will try to make it there, but probably won't be near Detroit until late afternoon.
I'll try to make it, since I've yet to go to an event in Michigan.
If I show, I'll have my freshly re-anodized flats to show off! Picking them up on the way back.

We had a nice little turnout of 928s for the event today, I think eight cars. The techs at Munk's were great, and graciously put each car up on the lift and gave it a going-through. They even did some minor repair stuff! Best of all, it was nice getting a baseline condition assessment from some pros and veteran sharksters alike!
Big Dave generously pulled his bell housing to demonstrate how to check for flex plate loading and prevent the dreaded thrust bearing failure.
Rob Budd also stopped by to show us how to install the leather dash covers he's getting made. Nice stuff, just like the immaculate engine bay on his Corvette engined shark!
I want to pass thanks on, once again, to the guys and gals at Munk's service in Waterford (www.munks.com) for offering their services and facility to us! And of course, let me not forget Dennis and the 928OC chapter for putting it together, either. Thanks, y'all!
