When I purchased my 87 S4 Auto the PO said the drivers side headlight needed adjustment. Right after bringing it home I was having numerous other things checked/fixed and asked the shop to check/adjust the headlight. After looking at it they said they couldn't do anything with it and suspected possible structural problems. Suggested I take it to a bodyshop. Since I had it out of commission replacing the alternator cooling cover I decide to take a look at the headlight. Once I had the cover off it was obvious that one of the plastic adjuster tabs was broken. As a temp fix I just turned it around so the pressure was on the unbroken tab. Would like to get a new one as well another plastic piece that I broke the tab off (oval piece) when turning this around. Anyone know where I can get the small bits like this. Believe they are H5 (8") headlights.

Anyone out there? Maybe I should have titled "Need Headlight Parts". Assume the H5 lights are just fit into the stock mounts, then what I need is stock parts to fix this?

Dang!
those little parts always seem to turn into big parts. Even with my very limited skills maybe I can make one? Not much to the little plastic piece that is broken.

If you are going to fabricate it - make it easy for yourself and ditch the flex adjuster - they don't work that well anyway and it takes away some of the stress on the parts- Just cut it off the bolt part and fashion a head on it (a slot or a flat)
Then just J-B weld the adapter fixed in place - OR recreate the original shapeby adding J-B weld and file/ drill to fit... You'll have to talke the pod covers off to adjust - but so what - you probably will anyway!

JB Weld is great - I find I use it for so many things

Let me see what I have in the garage and I'll get back to you. I have two complete spare headlight assemblies. I started to canibalize one. I'll see what's left of the other.
edit: I just checked. Mine have the old syle adjusters (black plastic piece and a bolt) and I don't have any that I can spare. You could probably adapt the old style to your car easily and they'd be easier to find. Jim at 928 Intl or Rixter at DC Auto probably have some broken headlights they could canibalize.
